Team Suzuki/Brock’s Performance Products is anticipating a strong finish to the season after a solid performance at the AMA/Prostar Schnitz Memphis Blues Nationals, October 2nd-3rd.

600 Super Sport standout Vince Woska is only 95 points out of first place in the championship series after collecting a much needed first round win against Richard Gadson in Memphis.

“Vince has done a real good job handling the switch to the 04 GSXR 600,” Davidson said. “Mathematically he still has a chance at the championship so we are going to keep him on our quickest bike.”

In 1000 Super Sport Davidson was held back by a lingering leg injury that he sustained over the summer.

“I made the mistake of trying to ride too soon,” said Davidson. “It hurt pretty bad and it was affecting my riding.”

Davidson was defeated by teammate Dustin Clark in round 1. Clark has moved to within 8 points of second place in the 1000 category. In Memphis, Clark just missed defeating Darren Burnett in one of the closest races of the day.

“It was a tough break for Dustin,” Davidson said. “He ran his worst pass of eliminations and his opponent put a nice light on him.”

Overall Davidson is very pleased with his rookie rider’s performance throughout the season.

“Dustin has a great shot to move up to second in the points,” Davidson said. “That’s pretty good for his first year with a brand new team.”

Davidson has no doubt that his Suzuki GSXR1000s will be able to run with class leader Ryan Schnitz in the 8-second zone.

“Our bikes have definitely got high 8s in them,” Davidson said. “We just need to make some perfect passes. There’s a good chance we’ll get a Suzuki into the 8s in Gainesville. Dustin has been as quick as a 9.11 on a pass that he wheelied and had to fight it a little.”

Davidson is excited for the final race and hopes he feels well enough to enter competition.

“I practiced last week and did better than I expected, so I may ride in Gainesville,” Davidson said. “It’s silly to not be at 100 percent for a national, but I still have a chance at a top five number plate. I’d like to get one more race in. I have surgery scheduled for late November.”

Team Brock’s Performance Products Suzuki will once again offer trackside support and vend discounted OEM Suzuki parts in Gainesville.

Davidson also points out after Gainesville all the Brock’s Performance Parts 2004 Suzukis will be for sale. Both 1000s have been as quick as 9.11 and the 600 has been into the mid 9.80s, and Davidson predicts 9.70s in Gainesville. All three bikes have been freshened up and Gainesville will be the only race on them.
The season-ending AMA/Prostar World Finals gets underway November 5th from Gainesville Raceway, FL.

Davidson also extended special congratulations to crewman and networking ace Tony Wiford who in Memphis went two rounds and ran 9.30s on his Brock’s Performance tuned 2001 GSXR 1000……with 13 thousand miles on the engine!

The team expressed gratitude towards all of its dedicated sponsors and thanked; American Suzuki Motor Corp., Ohlins shocks, World Wide Bearings, Bates Leathers, NUTEC Racing Fuels, Millennium Technologies, Alisyn Oils, Bazzaz Performance Design and Spiegler Brake Systems USA.

With a VERY special thanks to Dean Shields of American Made Cycles.
