Woska, Gadson closing in on championship, Stoll hot

Brock’s Performance Products AMA/Prostar Super Sport competitor Vince Woska is closing in on the first championship of his career. After a furious start to the 2006 season Woska has endured a pair of second round defeats at the Pingel Thunder Nationals in August and the Orient Express US Nationals in September, yet remains a strong favorite to claim the championship at the World Finals in November.

“We’ve had a couple of tough weekends,” Woska said. “I’m still feeling really good about our chances at the championship. The bike has been running great, I’ve just had a few problems riding it. I drove through the clutch really bad in Atco.”

Team owner Brock Davidson, who won the AMA/Prostar Superbike championship in 2000, knows exactly what the young rider is experiencing.

“Nerves. The closer you get to the championship the harder it is on you,” Davidson said. “Vince started the season so strong that we’ve been in don’t-screw-up mode but there’s a fine line between not screwing up and not going fasting enough. Now it’s just a matter of getting the job done. I have a lot of confidence in him.”

If Woska wins the championship it will mark the second straight season Davidson has captured the Super Sport title as a team owner. He accomplished the feat in 2005 with veteran Rickey Gadson.

“That’s why we do this stuff, to win championships,” Davidson said. “It hasn’t been easy because some of the other guys in the class have really been picking it up.”

Davidson continues to support Gadson and applauds his effort to claim the Super Street championship this season.

In Pro Street, Brock-backed rider Phil Stoll and tuner Ronnie Mitchell have been on a ferocious tear. Stoll won the Pingel Thunder Nationals and qualified on the pole at the Orient Express US Nationals.

“‘Their whole team is doing great,” Davidson said. “Phil is a heck of a rider and Ronnie can really tune the thing. They out ran Barry Henson and Mike Slowe with stuff that they built. That’s incredible. Barry and Mike are not easy to beat by any means.

Davidson added, “I’m really excited to see our exhaust working so well in the Super Sport class. Atco was the first time all season that at least one of the finalists didn’t have our pipe on the bike.”

Next up for team Brock’s Performance Products will be the AMA/Prostar National Finals from Gainesville Raceway, Nov.3-5.

Vince Woska would like to thank Brock Davidson of Brock's Performance Products. “None of this would be possible without his support, time, effort, and friendship,” Woska said.

“Thanks to Lang and Lee Hindle of Hindle Performance Exhaust,” Woska said. “Lang and Lee Hindle have been working with Brock’s Performance to produce the fastest exhaust systems for Sportbikes on the planet, and we have been fortunate enough to have been given the opportunity to prove it on the track. Thank you for your support and a great product.”
