Team Brock’s Performance is adding multi-time sport bike champion Rickey Gadson to its formidable arsenal of riders for the remainder of the 2005 season. Gadson will compete in the AMA/Prostar 1000 Super Sport category aboard a Brock Davidson-tuned 2005 GSXR-1000; the same machine Gadson rode to a runner-up performance in Virginia.

“Rickey knows how to get it done on a street bike,” said Davidson, who raced Gadson several times throughout his career. “He will be a great addition to our team. I was impressed with what he did in Virginia. Last ride, the bike was bone stock. This time we’re going to put the complete SuperSport Race prep to the engine and chassis.”

“Brock’s one of the best to ever do this thing. This is his specialty,” Gadson said. “The 2005 Suzukis put out a lot of power. I’m excited to race one. I think it’s a good fit.”

Gadson did not compete in St. Louis but still maintains the No. 4 spot in the points series. Team Brock’s Performance mainstay Vince Woska is second, just 90 points behind leader Chip Hunter.
“Vince has been hanging tough. Between him and Rickey we’ve got a very realistic shot at a championship,” Davidson said. “I want to make sure that they both have a chance to win every race they enter.”

Perhaps the hardest transition for Gadson is having to race in the same class as his nephew and protégé, Richard Gadson.

“Yeah that’s tough. If we come to the line it’s going to be the best damn drag race you ever seen. Richard told me, “C’mon you got to at least let me holeshot you,””

aughed Gadson. “It’s going to take all of my ability to make sure he doesn’t holeshot me. I just hope we can end up on opposite sides of the ladder.”

Team Brock’s Performance Pro Street Rider Phil Stoll has climbed up to the No. 4 spot in the points series on the Mirror Image Hayabusa and is a mere 32 points behind second place, Alphonso Thompson.

The team will be back in action at the AMA/Prostar Wiesco Cyclefest, July 16th-17th, from Norwalk Raceway Park near Davidson’s headquarters in Ohio.

“We’re busy at work to get the bikes in top-notch shape for that race,” Davidson said. “We have already been warned that there is going to be a thorough technical inspection for the entire class, so I am going to make sure I’m there to help my guys out.”
