Brock’s Performance Products backed jockey Vince Woska made history at the MTC Elmer Trett Nationals from Atlanta, GA, by scoring Suzuki its first win in the hotly-contested AMA/Prostar 1000 Super Sport class.

“It was wonderful. I never expected the win coming into the weekend. I tried to stay very modest,” Woska said. “This was one of my most memorable races.”

“Vince has really matured as a rider,” Davidson said. “I knew if we could put him on the right machine he’d get the job done.”

Woska’s win didn’t come easy. Woska was forced to fight a ferocious head wind and several wheelies caused by the newfound horsepower of his 2005 GSX-R1000.

“We were up in Canada at a design session with Hindle and we found some serious power,” Davidson said. “We ended up getting the 05 to make more power than either of my bikes from last year after an entire season of tweaking. I give Vince a lot of credit for learning the bike so quickly.”

“It was only the second time I was on the 1000,” Woska said. “It took me a while to get used to all the power.”

In the final Woska defeated fellow Suzuki rider Stuart Hamby of Team MPS with a 9.43 to Hamby’s 9.65. Davidson says he couldn’t be happier with the 2005 GSXR.

“The bike had 31 miles on it when it hit the dyno and by the time the race was over it had 48,” Davidson said. “It is truly a brand new bike. Suzuki made an awesome machine. It means a lot to us to have the first official Suzuki win in the class. There are a lot of talented people out there that are working very hard to win on a Suzuki.”

“The 05 is plenty fast,” Woska said. “I couldn’t believe how quick it was for being virtually stock.”
In the semis Woska flexed his performance muscles with a 9.36 to take out Lee Shierts’ 9.45. In a class long dominated by Kawasaki, all four semi-finalists were Suzuki- mounted.

The win propelled Woska to the No. 3 spot in the points series, just one point out of second, and 11 behind leader Rickey Gadson.

“I really want to thank Brock for all the hard work developing the bike,” Woska said. “I’d also like to thank my father and family, Pro Cycle USA, Vanson, Vortex, Scantek, and Dick Suarez with Full Spectrum Racing.”

It was also a successful weekend for Brock’s Performance Products backed Pro Street racer Phill Stoll who went to the finals on the Mirror Image Polishing Suzuki. Stoll motored his Ronnie Mitchell-owned turbo Hayabusa to a magnificent 7.53 in the semis but couldn’t match Barry Henson’s 7.48 in the final.
“I’m very proud to say that the first time Phill let the clutch go on that thing with our brand new Hayabusa Dragshock by Ohlins the bike did a 1.25 60 ft.,” Davidson said. “They have only used our shock for two races and already have the launch completely dialed-in. I can’t wait until they figure out their intermittent misfire, they will be tough to beat.”

With the runner-up finish Stoll has now moved up to the No. 3 spot in the points series.

Brock’s Performance Part’s is pleased to announce that it will also provide product backing to Rob Bush’s/ Fish’s Custom Hayabusa Pro Mod bike ridden by Frank Williams.

“I really like what they’re trying to do,” Davidson said. “We’re going to do our best to help them make their Hayabusa engine as strong and dependable as possible.”

Next up for the Brock’s Performance Products riders will be the AMA/Prostar Lucas Oil Spring Nationals from Richmond, VA, April 30th-May 1st.
